Solar Farms on Agricultural land. She made several points. Colin thanked her and reminded
everyone that the Solar Company would be speaking after the meeting and would address the
residents and their questions. He stated that the Board would have their business meeting first.
He also stated that there is nothing to be decided by the Board on this matter at this time.

PLANNING COMMISSION REPORT
The Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors will meet on September 9, 2024, at
6 P.M. to continue reviewing Ordinance 27- Zoning.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Road Status Report – The crew did some more mowing on the side of the roadways. They also
took care of a problem on Kratzer Road, cutting back brush to better see at the intersection.
They continued to fill potholes with cold patch. The Oil and Stonework was completed and the
Tar and Chip work was started. Julie received a complaint about not being able to see when
pulling out at the intersection of Seven Points with Captain Bloom Road. Julie wrote the property
owner a letter explaining that the farmer had planted his crop too close to the end of the property
and it was causing a problem with sight distance. She requested that they cut back the crop to
eliminate the problem. Discuss Line Painting on Seven Points Road – The Board requested a quote from
D.E. Gemmel who we have used in the past for line painting on Seven Points Road. The cost is
$6,856.36. Julie checked the budget and found we came in under budget for the Oil and Stone
by $2,000 which was unexpected. There are funds available to pay for this expenditure. This is
twice what it cost the last time we had lines painted on Seven Points Road but it is needed.
Skyler made a motion to have the work done. Julie seconded the motion. Motion passed without
opposition.

Solar Farm – The Board received notification that a company would like to lease land from a
farmer, Tony Adams and put two solar farms on them. The Board learned recently that there are
two area’s that are leased, one on App’s Flats (near Mink Farm on Route 890) and one on Heim
Road. Colin stated he understood that the majority of the individuals attending tonight’s meeting
were here to discuss the Solar Farm issue. He stated that the Board would finish their business
meeting and then the Solar Company representatives would be able to speak to the residents. He
stated that the Board would not be conducting any business or decisions regarding this issue and
that nothing would be recorded or minutes taken since it is not a Board meeting. He stated that
the company, Pivot Energy just requested being able to speak to residents after the meeting
which is what would be happening.

Jarrett Road – Julie stated that she spoke with Mike Brinkash and he is working with Logan at
NCCD. Logan is waiting to hear from DEP as to whether we need a GP-11 permit or a GP- 7.
