Jarrett Road Work to begin next week
Clemens Road Bridge Seda COG reached out to the township to see that if the township
received a grant would they be willing to pay 5% of the cost of the estimated million-dollar
project. The board would like to see if Seda-Cog can provide the township with some kind of
contract. Julie made a motion to proceed with a grant with Seda-COG for the Clemens Road
bridge along with a written agreement stating the township’s agreement to pay 5% of the project
cost. Motion was passed unanimously.
Emergency Management Coordinator SID number for Russ was received and sent to the
county.
Intersection at Wolf’s Crossroads (Rte. 890, Brush Valley and Seven Points Roads) Steph
talked with the Chief of Police at Ralpho Township concerning their radar speed sign. Their sign
is moveable and they purchased it in 2021 from All Traffic Solutions for $3,240.00. The sign is
very useful and it is able to keep track of numbers of vehicle, by date and time as well as their
speeds. Steph pointed out that with that tracking it can prove to residents concerned about
speeding what the average speed is of vehicles. The board requested a quote for a moveable
radar sign from All Traffic Solutions.
118 Beck Road Water Issues – The project will begin next week.
Supervisor Compensation – Ed reported that the increase in pay cannot be done while in office.
It does not take effect until after reelection. As far as paying a salary every month instead of a by
meeting pay the board would still need to adopt an ordinance to make this change and it would
take effect after reelection. This will make the pay higher for one supervisor until the next two
catch up within four years. It was decided to see what the average supervisor pay was for the last
three years.
Sight Distance Concerns at the Airport Rd. and Seven Points Intersection The shed will be
demolished soon. Penn DOT gave sign recommendations but do not need to give us permission
since they are township roads. The Conrads’ gave permission to remove the two trees. Quotes
will be requested for tree removal. Skyler moved, seconded by Julie to waive the zoning permit
fee for the demo permit to remove the shed. Motion passed unanimously.
Comfort Road Bridge- Bridge replacement on Comfort Road is on hold because of bats that
may be in the area. The school district is aware of the bridge replacement project.
Twin Hill Bridge Replacement Plans were made available at the last meeting and it is still the
public comment period.
Keystone Collection -Bank Change In order to change the bank for the ACH tax payments,
Keystone Collections requires that the board approve the change. Julie moved, seconded by
Skyler to grant permission to Keystone Collections Group to send ACH tax payments to Central
Penn Bank (formerly Northumberland National Bank) effective September 15, 2025. Motion
passed unanimously.

Tressler Road Drainage Issue The township met with Randy Klock on Tressler Road
concerning a water drainage issue he was having from the road onto his property with a lot of
stone. The amount of stone washing out was not coming from the township road but it appears
that the stone is coming from an unpaved, stone driveway that sits above this property which
washes out and sends the stone into the next property. The site was reviewed and Mike Brinkash
noted that he will get a plan together for the board to review. Mike felt that all that can be done is
to let the stone wash from one are to another.
Close Accounts First National Bank Sklyer made the motion to close the accounts at First
National Bank after all outstanding checks have cleared. Motion was passed unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS
Fire Tax – Christopher Anderson – Christopher Anderson spoke requesting a fire tax increase
to help for the purchase of a used fire truck at a cost of $600,000.00. Julie responded that this
request is bad timing because of the county reassessment and the unknown tax increases it could
cause and she is against raising the fire tax. Paula noted how important Lower Augusta is to the
township as well. The current fire tax is used to pay an agreement with Sunbury Fire Dept. at
$9,000.00 per year and to pay Shamokin Township for workers comp for Stonington Fire Co.
